Learn what to do if you have a medication that is not on our formulary and how you can use your OTC benefit.

What happens if you're new to the plan and your medications are not on the formulary?

To ensure you have access to your medications, we offer a one-month temporary supply at the beginning of your enrollment.

To receive this temporary supply, it’s important to know that:

  • The prescription must be filled at a pharmacy within our network.
  • During this month, talk to your doctor about whether you can switch to a medication included in our formulary.
  • Call our Member Service Center for guidance and support in accessing the medications you need.

* If the prescription is for less than 30 days, you can receive multiple refills until you have a full month's supply. You must request the temporary supply within the first 90 days of your enrollment.

How can you save on OTC items with your benefit?

With the OTC benefit, you can save on items and medications to care for your health at home, such as pain relievers, vitamins, diapers, first aid supplies, and more.

  • Take them home the same day and take advantage of possible discounts at hundreds of community pharmacies. Pharmacy List

Call us or check your Evidence of Coverage to confirm if you have the benefit. The benefit is deposited every 3 months or monthly, depending on your coverage, and does not accumulate. Be sure to use it before the period ends.
