It is likely that at some point, we will all become caregivers for an older adult, either in part or entirely. That is why Triple-S Salud has taken on the task of providing benefits for its members that can help you in the many roles you carry out as a caregiver.

Join the Contigo Cuidador program to get guidance on handling the processes and challenges you face daily. Here, we will share with you some of the benefits of belonging to the program:

1. Contigo Cuidador Workshops – is a series of workshops with valuable tools to grow your knowledge focused on patient care, use of technology, legal and money issues, anxiety and grief management, self-care, and physical mobility, among others. Find the calendar at cuidadores.sssadvantage.com
2. Caregiver Guide – is a written document that teaches you how to make an action plan to organize your life and that of the patient; explains what papers are needed to care for that person and handle their affairs; It trains you to work with your finances and tells you about some chronic conditions, their symptoms and how to treat a patient who suffers from them. 3. Activities – During the year, special events are offered to caregivers and their loved ones to share and grow this support group, which is essential in this process. Go to the Triple-S Advantage Facebook page, “like” it and watch out for our announcements about future activities.

Also, Triple-S has other benefits for its members that make their lives easier.

1. TeleConsulta MD – is an application for use by Triple-S members that you download to your phone or tablet and have access to many doctors and specialists.  Triple-S Advantage members only have access to specialist doctors. Once you make your user profile, you can choose the time for your appointment, get a medical evaluation, talk about the test or laboratory results, and get medical orders for laboratories, x-rays, and preventive tests. Also, the doctor can send your prescription to the pharmacy electronically. Just be sure to choose a pharmacy within your participating Triple-S network.
2. Triple-S en casa is an application that you download on your cell phone.. It lets you order prescription medications or OTC products available in the formulary and receive them at your home or the place of your choice. If you are a Triple-S Advantage member, you can also see the balance of your OTC products.
3. Mi Triple-S is a platform and app where you can manage your health care, view medical visit records, view your list of medicines, share health care information with your family or caregivers, get preventive care alerts for yourself or for the person you care for, and access your plan digital ID card.
4. SSS a tu lado– Triple-S Advantage members who have coverage with the SSS a tu lado benefit can get a person’s support to help them. If you are a caregiver, this person will support you in caring for that loved one who needs extra help, such as when dressing, bathing, changing diapers, rotating to avoid ulcers, or doing some household tasks.
5. Salus* – At Salus clinics, you can get many primary medical services with more than 20 specialists and dentists under one roof. By working in a unified way, you can easily have a single digital health record. Also, they have preventive care programs, diagnostic testing services, and programs that allow you to get many services on the same day. The clinics are in Ponce, Hato Rey, Guaynabo and Carolina. You must check the services offered in each of them.

We know you are very dedicated but remember that your care is essential to your job. It would help if you had help from others, time to rest and care for yourself, and access to education about your role as a Caregiver.
